Rejecting car - dealer ignoring me

When you tell them you have rejected the car then they have to act. Letting them know you 'will be' rejecting the car means you have not yet rejected it. And they will know that.
They've told me already they're prepared to take the car back. Do I still need to formally reject it with such wording?Muzzer79 said:
Why don't you go and see them in person, with the car?
Because there's a risk of engine failure if the vehicle is used , and they're quite a trek away. They have said they're prepared to take it back, and asked me for the cars mileage. I assumed this would confirm they know I'm rejecting.

Being as you can't now use the car, write to them formally to inform them you are rejecting it, arrange transport of the car back to them, accompany the car and speak to someone in person.

So the dealer isn't ignoring you now then? They'll want to know the mileage as they'll deduct usage, give them the mileage and they'll likely propose what they want to deduct for the mileage you've covered in the vehicle.zedx19 said:

This was said a week ago, which was their last contact. I've sent a few emails since and none have been responded to.ellingtj said:
You don't have to return the car to them, all you have to do is make the car available for collection. However, taking it back to them would probably makes things happen quicker.
That's what I thought. Car is here and I've got all the paperwork with it so legally it's now down to themkestral said:

Unless they get really pedantic and say that by knowingly driving the car with an engine fault you may have rendered further damage to it.I had this with a dealer and they said that damage may or may not occur to the engine but that it was my decision on whether to drive it to their location.
