Processing Admissions Electronically

Met Police Portal said:

Please complete the paper that you received in the post as by law we cannot process admissions electronically.

Why can't admissions be processed electronically?

When the NIP came through it was addressed to someone else. The driver was then nominated electronically. However, driver now has to go to the post office to incriminate himself.

What is the legality over this part of the process?

West Yorkshire and some other counties use a Public Access Portal - enabling people to respond online to a Notice of Intended Prosecution. I’m therefore not convinced it’s prohibited “by law.”
