I have a disagreement with an employment agency over a restrictive covenant.

Rather than trying to seek advice from ‘the internet’, I’d like to pay somebody for proper legal advice, so I’m simply looking for a recommendation for a legal professional who can advise me and write a letter.

Thanks

Are you trying to return to the client they introduced you to initially?

Not quite, it’s a little more complicated than that because there’s an extra party in the contract chain

I have the agency being right then, its not a restrictive covenant its a contract term to protect their revenue, whether you go by directly or indirectly regardless how many layers you try and put between you and the client.

I hope the terms of the agency are upheld, you were happy with the term when taking their money.

You appear to be aggressively assuming I’m trying to get out of it. I’m actually trying to find a solution where I pay them a fee that appeases them and allows me to change role.

I already worked for this client before I took a job with this agency, their restriction now prevents me working for the same client again. It seems unfair to me but I’ve made a mistake in not spotting that clause where I’m compliant with their other clauses.

My motive for seeking assistance is to pay them their penalty (based on their profit, which I don’t know) and put it behind me.
