Hi, driving along the Hogs back today in Surrey and saw a Mobile CCTV van driving along the road. I over took at Normal speed. What are these vans for?

Probably spotting mobile phone use, or seatbelts not being worn etc.

Not if they're travelling from one location to another, applies to both

it will 99.9% be an ANPR on it's way to the nearest Greggs. Got a pic?

What are these vans for? The ones I’ve seen would be parked up at crime hot spots. One was always in the carpark of a supermarket that must have had a few shop lifters (however I think this van was a Walter Mitty privately owned by the supermarket chain)

Other than that, parked up at football matches and protests.

Jeeez, have you never seen a speed camera van being driven either? How do you think they get to their required locations? FFS they're not beamed there by Captain Kirk!

They're vans with CCTV cameras that are mobile. This means that can go and set up in different places.
