Will/Executor/Estate time frame

So,
My father passed away on 13/01/23 his partner who lives in Essex due to terminal cancer, joint tenants on property in Devon, is his executor of his will, she's also named as beneficiary of his estate etc apart from some items to myself and his grandkids. Question I have is, how long do they have to do an inventory of his estate and notify the beneficiaries? I have a copy of his will so I know what i'm getting. At present I have been denied access to the house, locks changed and told be her its her house, I have a small claims in for some personal items there, but I also have childhood toys that I can't access now, obviously I could just go down and get them, not like its hard to pop a UPVC euro lock, but that'll open a can of worms in itself. Any advice would be appreciated

I’m not convinced that there is a time line for informing beneficiaries TBH. I did this recently for my father who passed in October (also in Devon!), I did the financial side of the inventory in about 6 weeks, submitted Probate by about week 8 and got probate by week 14 (quicker than I expected). I distributed the “specified items” after I had submitted probate and after I had had sufficient time to think about it!
Don’t underestimate what a ball ache it is getting to Devon to sort things out!
Obvious statement is to ask the executor when they think they can distribute stuff and if there is anything you can do to help (if it’s monetary then you’ll need to wait for probate to be granted).

she's been down over easter weekend, logistics was apparently 6+hrs and being driven, oxygen cylinders in boot, this is all 2nd hand info as we don't talk. she's refused me access to the property, she'll definitely not change her mind, changed locks weekend after he passed then told me no access to her home. ive also got small claims in against her due to not being able to get some property back, court informed me today its 27 week backlog for dates. biggest thing is my childhood toys, teddy bear from my parents, and some of my dads bits, ive a feeling it'll all be binned out of spite, rambling now, cheers
