Got squirted today while out riding with a water pistol.

It's petty I get it, the young lads thought it was hilarious and I'm fine, do t suspect there was anything other than water involved.

No witness or evidence, can I atleast report it so its been recorded?

The consequences of doing this to an inexperienced rider could be severe. I just know from experience that Surrey police don't care for road cyclists so probably wasting my time and theirs.

Let me get this right; you are seriously considering going to the Police to report being squirted with water by children?

Once, many many years ago, I went on a drive-by rampage with some mates armed with supersoakers. Don't remember if cyclists were involved mind you.

Thanks for triggering the memory, bought a smile to my face along with a tinge of embarrassment at what a bunch of bored wkers we were biglaugh

Seems superfluous dropping the side panel when it offers no protection or even stealth!
I guess it was the thought that counts.

This happened to me once, I thought it was pretty funny myself. Unless it was a full-on supersoaker blast to the face delivered from a moving vehicle that pulled alongside while you were descending at 40mph then I think the police have bigger fish to fry.

Some people pay good money to get squirted on, see it as a freebee.

I’d have thought a water pistol would be the weapon of choice for someone with your username wink

Given you accept there was no harm and that you don't have a clue who the perp was, im not sure what you're wanting to be the outcome of any potential further action on your part, beyond regaling us with your tale of "what happened to me this weekend ".

As a cyclist myself, I'm embarrassed for you.

If they'd chucked a rock at you OK, but a fking water pistol, from some kids?

Get a grip. No wonder people hate us.

I can genuinely understand why you posted this.

But have a look outside, the sun is shining and it is a lovely day. Even if the water pistol was loaded with warm piss, are you REALLY going to be calling 101 to report it?

No, of course you aren't.

Yeah definitely call the Police, then you might as well stage a sit in protest on an A road somewhere. 'Just stop kids with water pistols'

I guess it depends if it was a bunch of feral youths intimidating everyone who went past, or if was a couple of 8 years olds having a giggle.

Many years ago I was friends with the landlord at our local pub. Think we were having a discussion about the times he'd had to call out the police, and I asked if he would call them if someone walked in and pointed a water pistol at him. Answer was yes, as he didn't know what might be in there. Mind you, he did run some pretty rough as fk pubs biglaugh

We did the same, most people just just laughed including teachers with kids on school trip on a really hot day.

My pet hate on a motorcycle is when the car in front decides to clean its windscreen - most times my nice carbon lid gets covered in smelly chemicals & I can't see for while.
I accidently tried this in my car whilst passing a bicycle: the rider was not a happy bunny!

Kids will see this as a harmless funny prank, and let's face it, it's hardly dangerous unless you swerve under a lorry or something trying to avoid a bit of water.

The only real issue is what was in the water pistol (and the fact that you've no idea what it is until you are covered in it). A couple of kids once water pistol'd me whilst cycling on a hot day - was water so no issue and it's hardly going to kill you if not.

If it was a couple of young kids squirting tap water at you then that's obviously not the same as some bored scrotes who have filled it full of pee (or worse).
