I've just completed a six-month totting-up ban and have had a nasty surprise getting insurance. I knew I'd get whacked, but £15k vs about £2k is a hefty hike! Is there a specialist insurer out there?

I assume you've tried all the comparison websites?

Try sorting the quotes by lowest price and not highest.

I would say 2k is pretty hefty in the first place. Might be worth getting a smaller car for a while.

Look at it from the insurers' perspective - I'm assuming "F" means you have an F-type? So a performance car. You've then managed to get caught speeding multiple times in a short period (and possibly done something very naughty too), so they'll assume you drive everywhere at 10/10ths. The risk is therefore high, and pushes your premium up.

You can't change your driving history, so the only variable you can control is the car. My friend... You need to drive a Jazz or a Micra for a year or two. It's all part of the punishmentbiggrin
