Re: the super; such behaviour is almost impossible to discover unless the offender is found in flagrente. It's normally disclosed when a person is investigated for a different, and not always similar, offence. They don't talk about it, they are clever at covering their tracks and, of course, no one is looking for them. I'd like to know how this bloke was discovered.

I worked alongside an inspector who was dismissed for possession of sexual images of children. He was married with two kids and behaved 'normally' in company. I didn't like him, but for the sole reason that he was lazy and dumped work, occasionally on me. Other than that, he was OK as a work colleague. His predilections came to light when his credit card details were revealed following an investigation of a paedophile ring. It wasn't even in this country. I had a bit of an argument with him just a few weeks before he was unfrocked.

When such offenders are discovered, the next of kin are normally shocked to discover the 'other side' to them. I'm told NoK frequently defend the offender because they do not believe the allegations.

It might make you wonder if you work alongside a paedophile. You will have no idea if they are an offender. You might well have been chatting to them at some work get-together, had him and his family around your house.
