The case here seems to indicate the driver was 18 times the drink drive limit. I assume that level would normally result in death or coma, so presumably mis reporting?

I think death/coma becomes likely at a breath reading of around 400.

The other thing that doesn't seem right is that he only got a 15 month ban. For such an excessive reading you'd expect a long ban, a lot of community service and a possible custodial sentence (a few years ago a friend's son got done for a reading of around 100 and got - from memory - a 30 month ban and 200 hours community service plus a hefty fine). Perhaps the reporter missed a decimal point. A 15 month ban is more consitent with a reading of 65.6.

I don't think it's a typo for breath. You don't get .5 results.

Could be blood but that's still 8.2 times the limit. Or urine but it's still 6.1 times the limit.

The fact it just says a 15 month ban (plus fines) and not anything else its got to be a reading on the last row.

65 or 56 typed by someone with fat fingers? (More likely 56 given the length of the ban)
