So this stretch of the d/c A11 towards Norwich/A47 junction has some roadworks going on.

A good couple of miles before any work, there's a line of cones plus a 30mph limit.

Every car (pretty much) continues safely until 70 because there is absolutely no reason you can't safely do 70. What are these imbeciles thinking outlawing 99% of good sensible drivers who are just trying to safely get from A-B in as little time as possible?

I used to regard 30s as sacred, but now when they're being blatantly abused like this and of course the recent popularity of the "out of town 30s", they've lost their status.

Drove in Norfolk Saturday, did like the Speed Camera signs in Blue which read " For Safety Reasons ".

Does that mean all the others are there for profit then?!??!

You are quite right, and I argued this with Essex Scamera Partnership, reducing speed limits carte blanche means that people will get frustrated and not only disobey that one, but also others which may have been more reasonable.....

What makes it really bad is originally the 30mph limit and lane reduction went both towards the roadworks - *AND* away from them .....

Any pro-Scamera etc. care to explain why ?
