SPEEDING offences have rocketed by more than 2,400% in the last five years.....

However, during the last five years there has been no sustained downward trend for the number of deaths or injuries

Amazing isn't it. There is the evidence, for all to see. Cameras are not achieving either the goal of slowing people down or stopping road deaths. Indeed, drivers seem to be speeding up. And yet, the partnerships are still there. WHY?!!!

And as for Brake.....fecking broken record. Let's all stare facts in the face and carry on regardless shall we?!

I doubt speeding offences have increased, if anything there are probably less people speeding, as some actually buy the 'Speed Kills' philosophy. What has changed is the level of 'Enforcement' simply because it is an easy & lazy way of raising revenue whilst pretending to be doing something for road safety

94,923 x £60 (minimum) = £5,695,380

£5.7 million and who says speed cameras are not succesful?......

1997 - 344,000 motoring offences
2003 - 2,248,000 motoring offences (of which 1,784,500 were scameras)

(Source - Motoring Offences & Breath Test Statistics England and Wales 2003.)

In 2003, 93% of scams were dealt with by CoFP. The other 7% includes those where the speeds were too high to be dealt with by CoFP (unsure of the numbers but I'd be surprised if this was lower than 6%).

What would happen to the legal system if just 5% of people who were 'caught' decided not to roll over but exercised their right to a fair trial ? Meltdown...

The amazing thing is the arrogance of the Brake slime. 53% of drivers are still speeding so more needs to be done.

so 2.5 times as many people still think the speed limit is shite as voted for Blair scum and as Brake are elected by no-one an infinate number of people think the speed limits is shite yet still they think they have a right to impose their crap on us. Time to sequestrate their assets and deport them.

BRAKE said:

"People can be driving dangerously but not necessarily speeding," said the Brake spokeswoman.

No surely not, you really think?

Is it actualy possible that this tidbit of commonsense that has been mentioned on PH countless times has actualy penetrated the dense craniums of the Brakeites?

Now all they've got to realise is that people can be speeding, but not necessarily driving dangerously, and we'll be getting somewhere.

Yes, and the government's own figures show only 2% of fatals are because of excess speed and still these muppets spout their BS.

Fairness of the scamerati or the CPS..debatable.

Fairness of the courts...if you know the law, are well prepared and are confident in your approach then it is possible to emerge victorious.
