After a few comments, first time driving through Perth at night, almost turned into a no entry street, no signage to say no left turn, and the NO ENTRY signs are set back from the corner and look a tad small as well.

Because the traffic lights are set back to allow pedestrians cross, you don’t see the cars till just you start the turn.

Anyone know where I can find the traffic regs on sighting of signs, I believe they should be 600mm diameter, but from this screen shot look smaller.

I suppose in theory I could drive up to the sign and stop!

I think you just missed the 'ahead only' arrows on the road and traffic light.

Good spotting probably obviously missed it, nose to tail, bucketing down, night time, first time on that road.

Well, it's not very big, and probably not very bright compared to the actual traffic lights.

And the big 'Straight Ahead' arrows on the floor?

We've probably all nearly done it, but the traffic lights are also illuminated with the directional arrows.

Even darker, probably wink

Seriously, though, I don't think an arrow on the road is a legal instruction?

Likely to be covered up by traffic anyway, if its busy.

In my defence, night time, bucketing down, traffic nose to tail, first time on that road and cant see the arrows, always easy when you look at street view, and cant argue they are there, but but to my question, are the NO ENTRY signs too far back and small.

That's a number of minutes of my life I won't get back. The only somewhat valid point in that whole spiel was that we don't have a wrong way sign in the UK. Even that's only partly true, we don't have a wrong way repeater. If you've missed the no entry sign, the upside down road markings, the fact all the signs are pointing the other way, all vehicles are heading towards you and the invariable blaring of horns from them, a wrong way repeater isn't going to help you. That's an impressively cack creation.

No, because you only get a Green Light straight ahead arrow.

It is piss poor though.

Regs are defined in the traffic signs manual…

Might need to scroll around but here’s your starter for 10…

An extra added “No left turn” sign would help. Also similar to warn traffic from other directions.
