As an infrequent user of the M1 / M6 due to the need to travel between London and Manchester I’m used to the HADECS cameras and consequently I’ve adjusted my speed accordingly.

This Christmas I’ve had to do three return trips and my unscientific research suggests that the cameras are going off much more frequently. Has something changed? Limits lowered? They used to go off sometimes go off on their own.

Not that I noticed but I have noticed they’re almost endlessly 60mph now, even when clearly not necessary

I drive through seven HADECS installations on my daily M6 commute and haven't noticed them going off any more than usual. Even the one near J2 which regularly has a fit and starts flashing everything hasn't done it recently.

I drove up and down the length of the M6 a good few times over the summer.

For me the worst aspect of the motorway was the constantly varying speed limits, which appeared to just be completely random between gantry's, and caused an element of chaos to the traffic flow. Waze is a perfect tool to highlight up coming cameras though!
