The A41 doesn't go anywhere near Brackley.

All I could see was a sticker saying motorway maintenance & the camera's seemed to be near the base of the door.

There is endless HS2 stuff going on there, I would guess they are doing a couple of things, monitoring and maybe also doing tests for tax, insurance etc. But that is usually allied to plod further up the road.

But sadly, I would guess the main reason is that speed limits there are changing constantly up to a few weeks ago the areas near the HS2 works on the A43 was 60 both sides, it has since been dropped and there are no average speed cameras, so i think you have your real answer right there, easy money.

Put no cameras in, people get used to it and think there are none, then spring a van to make your monthly target.

I am pretty sure it wasn't.
That's why I asked if anyone else seen it.

I’ve seen one of these vans on the HS2 roadworks that was there for ‘worker safety’.

Presume it was nabbing people that were ignoring the 60mph limit that was in place at the time.

It was conveniently surround by lots of cones and signage like that picture posted above and looked like a work van until you looked at it properly.

It certainly didn’t appear to be a normal police vehicle but Northamptonshire apparently have started using convert vans as speed traps…

Interestingly, you were probably more likely to be involved in a crash with the van there, than if it wasn't.

And it may well be that the van, rather than keeping the workers safe, is actually putting them in greater danger.
