Hi all,

So far today had 3 calls from hardware wholesalers where someone has emailed pretending to be me to order products using my business details.

The email address is a variation of our company name and the domain was registered 2 days ago.

've spoken to the domain provider who are looking at next steps (does anyone know what could happen here?)

I have the mobile number of the person that's pretending to be me, is there a website I can post this to that if anyone googles the number it comes up as a scammer? It hasnt answered when I have called however has answered for the mobile phone providers and says they want the goods sent to a different address to the registered one. (alarm bells should ring for anyone else they are contacting)

I called action fraud who said they can give me a reference number in case there is any loss but so far the companies that contacted me directly thought it looked scammy and googled my details and found our landline so hopefully no one falls for it.

Anything else I could be doing?

try the various 'whocalledme' websites and leave scammer warnings.

they will also tell you who the number supplier is and I guess you can follow that up.

That’s it - thanks will report on there.

So the scammer has just given a delivery address for the phones to be sent to.

Am reporting to 101.

I know this happens constantly but it’s so frustrating!

The domain company won’t take the domain down without evidence (makes sense) but won’t say what sort of evidence they need?!
