Average speed cams… J14 M4 EV
Discussion
What is this sorcery?
50mph restriction and then suddenly 40mph with average speed cameras. I’ve never seen a stepped limit like this. I was mildly perturbed doing a GPS 50mph, then a vehicle passed and immediately braked in front of me, therefore sailed past at 50… until I clocked the 40 signs!
Anyone been through in daylight and can throw any light on whether this is enforced? Hoping to *not* receive a welcome home present!

If average speed cameras, then you would only get a NIP if you continued at 50 throughout the distance of the 40 mph limit?50mph restriction and then suddenly 40mph with average speed cameras. Yep, I’d imagine so, although I’m not sure how far in we noticed the 40 signs.
I understand motorways have a mandated max step down of 20mph into temporary limits but still find it unusual to see a 50 then 40.
Bloody ecoGolf has no engine braking at all to speak of to drift down in speed too. Particularly in 6th.
Give me back my auto Merc!

Give me back my auto Merc!I am surprisingly ‘sensible’ at work particularly with speed related offences
Even when you’re writing someone with 6 points up for a 3 point ticket at a verified 99mph on a busy, wet motorway and they start demanding proof and arguing the toss. Even then.
