Surely every true PHer has V-maxed their chariot of choice on a quiet and well-sighted stretch of the M1 unrestricted German autobahn, because it's fun to do?

Conditions look to be good and very little traffic - what is the problem?

Judging from your previous posting history that’s just the sort of f**kwit comment to be expected

More fun, safer and legal on a race circuit track day driving

Our 70 limit is pathetic. But speeding up to an indicated 184 mph doesn't help the cause to get the limit raised.

Looks pretty slow for 180mph?
Either way, he’s a dumbass.

I don't think that speedo is reading in MPH more likely KPH - the closing speed just does not look fast enough

Speedo says mph - not sure that BMW driver would concur on that closing speed either !
I’ve done VMax / Milbrook etc high speed runs in cars but 184mph on a bike on a motorway is brave / stupid / insane / potentially go to jail time.

Strange to brag about being too impoverished to afford a vmax day.

Anyone doing that sorta speed who ends up killing someone should be charged with manslaughter and get the life sentence it carries. None of this pathetic 7 year bks.
So crack on but if you end up killing someone else have some actual consequences.

Not a chance.

A Fireblade isn't going to be anywhere near approaching its redline at 115mph in 6th.

They don't top out in 1st much before 100mph.

Yeah but he's a digital creator so it's ok.

Or of course it's not the poster at all and they just nicked it off the internet to make them look a big boy

Causing death by DD carries a maximum sentence of life since June 2022

I think it depends on your chariot of choice. I know a bloke who Vmaxed his classic Mini at 100mph on the motorway, no-one batted an eyelid.

Bit different from Vmaxing something that will do 200mph.

I don't think many of my car friends have Vmaxed on the road in the cars they've owned past the age of about 25.

I think top speeds of bikes have gone up a bit.
But I think 25 years ago, there were a lot more of us visiting the naughty side of 140 now and then.
Teleport that bloke back to the early 90s, give him a GSXR, he'd be nothing special.

Big difference was, the camcorder used to be destroyed by the vibration.

Attitudes have changed.
Even among bikers, people will condemn this, yet it's just numbers really, anything over 120 is much of a muchness, 180 just needs a straighter or emptier road. That bike is probably way safer at that speed than some of my bikes were anywhere near three figures. Narrow crossply tyres, frames based on pushbikes, worn, skinny forks and crude dampers etc etc.

In other news, 48% of motorcyclists are over 60, according to some filler on the Ducati FB page.

Beyond the PH-sphere, I think the public are much more anti-speeding these days, At least on what passes for the 'open road'.
Everyone's got a car that will do 100 at least, but people bimble around making me think 'my Mum used to drive an Austin A40 faster than that!'.

People driving seriously fast are a small minority now.
