Saw a car going wrong way down dual carriageway last night

Fairly late last night saw a car ahead dithering coming onto the roundabout ahead from my right, disappeared from view as he (or she)started going the wrong way round the roundabout then off into (very light) oncoming traffic on the dual carriageway.
I saw them as they then turned round across both lanes. Couldn't tell status of driver unfortunately.
Anyway when I was a kid I'm sure top marks in the motorway Eye Spy game was for spotting a car going the wrong way, like a thousand points or something. I finally got my thousand points so that's a result.

How those long winter evenings must fly by!
Few weeks back I was coming down this slip road to be met with some woman in her 60s, coming up the slip road. I slowed, flashed, waved out the window but she carried on oblivious, another car behind did the same and still nothing, took a van who decided to block her path before she realised and did a 3 point turn. Not the first time I've seen this either, you'd think the road markings and no entry signs would make it obvious but clearly not to some people.

Yep, last night it was this roundabout approach where they turned to go anti clockwise, I think they went right of the island but can't be sure:https://www.google.com/maps/@52.9945234,-1.4505676...

On two recent occasions I have encountered two vehicles, at night in the darkness, travelling without lights...on a motorway.
Cue motorists furiously flashing them, but both drivers completely oblivious. It amazed me to think how far they may have travelled like that before even getting on the motorway.
Clearly no awareness from them that they don't have lights on and could not compute the behaviour of other motorists behind them.

Whilst the lack of observation is slightly scary, in built up areas the level of light pollution is such that you often can't tell from the driver's seat that headlights are actually on.... it used to be obvious, because dash illumination only came on with the lights but now it's on all the time I can see how people do forget.Cue motorists furiously flashing them, but both drivers completely oblivious. I did some work in the Dockyard at Portsmouth years back.The roundabout at the bottom of the M275 at early-o'clock, you learned to be on the lookout for French cars and cyclists straight off the overnight ferry.
Other place I remember is the coast road simewhere near Lyme Regis. Thick fog with added heavy drizzle. Again, horrid-AM. I met a car on one of the dual carriageway sections, one of us was on the wrong carriageway, pretty sure it was the other guy, but doubt lingers...
Didn't some satnav apps used to tell you to go the wrong way around roundabouts if you tried using them further afield than the Isle of Wight?

I've done a bit of flashing recently (headlights!) to no avail. The last I flashed repeatedly, but they just continued none the wiser.Some are definitely due to having the dash illuminated and auto lights. We went to a local theatre with a friend, we walked she drove. She passed, lights off, on her way home, with us leaning out from the kerb waving. She waved back and continued! When later told that she had no lights on, she was adamant that they were. "It's automatic and the dash was lit!"
Turns out hubby had turned them from auto to off.
Wouldn't happen on our car, it beeps "headlights are off!" in broad daylight when passing under some trees.
