I think this is one of those new cameras which can detect mobile phone usage etc.

I wasn’t using a phone however I was speeding, GPS speed varied between 67-70mph in a van on a dual carriageway. 70mph limit but 60 for vans

I assume it’s the human operated cameras which can differentiate between a cars and vans speed limit, and that these fixed/unmanned cameras wouldn’t go off in my situation as I was under the normal speed limit?

According to the manufacturers website, potentially yes.
