Pulled over for not wearing seatbelt
Discussion
Hi... as subject states. Has this happened to anyone recently? Never been pulled over in my life!!
I have no points or been convicted of an offence. Although have taken a speed awareness course in December 2022 and a driving awareness course last summer.
How likely is a course to be offered over a fine/points? I'd deal with a fine but would be gutted about the points.

Why wouldn't you wear a seatbelt?
I usually always do but I was literally just going from A to B... very aware it's wrong. My 08 polo doesn't make a sound either to remind me and never has done!
I even put my seatbelt on without thinking when i move the car on the drive. It's just a learnt behaviour.

I didn't realise you could opt to do a speed awareness course without committing an offence. Or driving awareness courses. Every day's a school day.
To clarify what I meant - I have never been charged, been to court or had points on my license. Apologies for incorrect terminology. deltofe93 said:

So you have two previous offences then?I have no points or previous offences. Although have taken a speed awareness course in December 2022 and a driving awareness course last summer.

Anywho...
Fine is up to £500 and no points that I can see, which is a shame, the fine should be heavier and there should be points

Nope - only the other day I did a 3.5 hour round trip! I get pulled in all different directions for various meetings etc. I even put my seatbelt on without thinking when i move the car on the drive. It's just a learnt behaviour.

But each of those drives has a start point,A, and a finish point, B, so why not wear one on this occasion?
lapsed judgement clearly. Already know it's wrong, already in trouble and stressing so don't need any more telling off was just asking what the usual outcome was if someone had been in a similar situation. Wacky Racer said:
Before 1973 you didn't need to wear a seatbelt or a crash helmet on a motorbike,
Nanny state...etc, etc.

The law requiring front seatbelts to be worn came into force in January 1983. I remember it, but me and my mates were already wearing them anyway. Nanny state...etc, etc.

OP: “I usually always do” erm, that doesn’t sound like this was your first time.

Usually definition: under normal conditions; generally... was emphasising the always! OP: “I usually always do” erm, that doesn’t sound like this was your first time.
