Mrs SC has been lucky enough to “win” a place on a DriveTech SCD course. Anyone been on one and can outline what to expect? Anything to mug up on ahead of time?
Thanks, Chris
Just curious to your choice of words. Presumably this is as an alternative to a prosecution for driving without due care and having an incident? Thanks, Chris

I intentionally left out the background to this as it’s not really relevant. She is keen to maximise the value she can get from the course so really wanted to know what to expect and if there’s stuff she can prepare beforehand that will help her get the most from it rather than it just be a tick box exercise.
From the lack of answers/info it sounds like she may be trailblazing instead!

She is going in to be taught, not to be tested. From the lack of answers/info it sounds like she may be trailblazing instead!

Sometimes it is a good idea to go into a learning situation with no pre-conceptions - The participant is then more susceptible to learning, rather than believing that they know.
The course is offered as an alternative to prosecution for careless driving offences or crash involvement where the police feel the driver could have done things differently to avoid a crash happening.
The course is a mix of classroom and on road. The driving element will look to address the events that led up to the incident to prevent a recurrence. Not a course I deliver (on road) but deliver classroom content. Get a decent coach it will be a very worthwhile course.

Just to close out the thread, she did the course yesterday. As mentioned, the morning is spent in the classroom focusing on developing hazards and analysing how you approach, etc and then the afternoon was out on the road (2 students to a car) working on anything they wanted to practice and receiving general feedback.
She said the course was well delivered and the coaching and peer feedback was useful. She also said there were were a couple of people who clearly didn’t want to be there and didn’t interact, and a chap who failed the eye sight check!
