As above, anyone know if any records are available ? The case was at a Magistrate’s court in Essex.

Virtually no chance at all especially Magistrates.

If you know the date go to the local library and see if the case was reported in the local newspapar.

If it involved sheep DEFRA may have a record of the alleged abuse

I have a subscription to Newspapers.com. Happy to try a search if you want to PM me details. Or I think you could try a free search to see if anything comes up.

Although stuff at magistrates didn't often make the papers. Journalist tended to get sent to Crown Courts for reporting.

My mate Basil Basildon got caught doing things with sheep on Christmas eve 1983 This is why I highlighted Sheep gate


The Judge at Barnstaple Magistrates said " Baaasil Baaaaasildon You mutton do it again
