Over the weekend I met a friend at a local business.
They thought payment was upon departure. It was not. An invoice will now be sent by Parking Eye.
They spoke with the management who informed them that there was nothing they could do until the invoice arrived.
My friend had paid upon leaving the business but this was not enough to stop the invoice.
The management have said that they will cancel the invoice once the reference number is known.

My friend would prefer that the invoice does not arrive at their house.
I have tried to contact Parking Eye but can only get a bot response not a human.

Any charge will be paid to avoid the invoice being posted.

Does anyone have any ideas how this invoice could be paid before it is sent?
Also does anyone know how long the invoice will take to arrive at the person's house?

Thanks for any assistance.

Perhaps your friend was driving in the area and felt unexpectedly ill / overcome with tiredness, and the safest place to stop for a sleep was in a car park for which he did not notice the signage regarding payment until after he had woken up and was feeling awake.

And in entirely unrelated matters, perhaps your friend might need to set up a temporary postal divert at the post office, for their name only, using cash as payment.

Thank you for the invaluable advice - on behalf of my friend!
Unfortunately mail redirect not an option due to additional print on letters.

Any idea how long Parking Eye take to send out invoices?

Surely it's easier for him to come home from work one day and say "had a nightmare meeting with Jim from sales in the Beefeater next to the Premier Inn the other day" and then when the ticket arrives say "well that sums up the meeting - and we didn't even get the contract".

Mail redirect to another premises would see a sticker on the envelope, but then said envelope could be disposed of at the other premises and the contents transited to the original intended destination.

Potential risk of the Post Office capturing all letters with the same surname and then a need to explain why post addressed to any other occupants of the originally intended address has been opened and envelopes disposed of... but perhaps that is a lesser issue.

One might wonder if the person in question has a regular postman/postwoman, with whom one could engage and perhaps request placement of letters addressed to a particular party in a discreet and waterproof location within the curtilage of the property.

Surely your friend either

1) was looking for a special present for a forthcoming birthday / anniversary and pulled onto the car park not realising ?

OR

2) stopped to help a little old lady struggling toi change a flat tyre

Etc etc

Unfortunately the meeting lasted somewhat longer than average.

The open envelopes would be a difficult answer.

Contacting Parking Eye would seem to be the soloution but their set up seems to be entirely 'bot' based.

Good suggestions but the period of time in question was long enough to replace all four tyres with hand made artisan radials.

Parking Eye look after my car park - even when I got a ticket on my own parking space I ended up just paying as they're impossible to deal with or reason with. A truly vile company.

Fair play for lasting longer than an average meeting though - always look for the pluses!
