After being reported/caught on camera for a red light offence, how long after did you receive the NIP?
If you were stopped at the roadside, you won't get a NIP as it would have been done at the time.

If it's a static camera its 14 days to the registered keeper of the vehicle.

Does that mean it should be received or sent within 14 days?

Say the incident occurred on a Sunday
Received within 14 working days I understand - today has been my 13th...

Wrong. 14 days not counting the offence date.

Sent or received?
Served.

Which without getting into technical aspects of the law, means received or deemed received.

If the offence was committed on a Sunday when should the NIP be received by?
As said earlier within 14 days, day 1 starting the day after the offence

A notice issued by first class post is deemed to have been served two business days after posting, unless the contrary was proved.

If a notice was posted in good time to effect service within 14 days but was delivered beyond this, it would fall to the defendant to convince a court of the notice's late arrival to the RK.

Not easy, but not impossible.

I’m still confused what the latest day is that I should receive it?
It should be posted not later than day 12 after the possible offence, to be deemed delivered on time. Receipt is not the same as served. For example, if it goes in the franked mail, first class, on day 10 (as seen on a postmark) then it will be deemed to have been served within time, even if your local postie leaves it in the delivery office for a week, unless you can prove it was delivered outside the 14 day period.

Proving it is the challenge. Peter had such proof and the opposition was forcred to concede it was delivered late.

A protracted journey:
- Lost at the magistrates’ court
- Lost at the crown court
- Won at the high court
At least a precedent was set.
