My daughter took finance out on a car with a well known bank , she decided to pay a £100 overpayment online but forgot to put the ref ( account no) on the payment .
I contacted them with her via email with screen shot of payment / account no as requested , they said they’d found the payment & if we supplied her name / dob they would make the payment , but new payment comes round & they’ve not paid it .
So contacted them again via email & I received a reply stating they only deal with car finance not bank accounts ( mind boggling ) , so I replied saying it a car finance agreement , supplying agreement no / reg no etc , receive email requesting agreement no / reg no dob etc as they can’t find the agreement , even though they’ve got the agreement no , and admired weeks ago they’d found the payment .
I’ve tried ringing but can never get through , is there another option ? I guess there high street bank would be an option but would they deal with car finance , or are we better just to forget the £100 ? Thankyou

I'm guessing that one of the issues will be its you and not your daughter trying to sort out what should be a simple enough issue.
Ignoring this , perhaps just email their complaints department and try from there but I imagine your daughter phoning to sort this out will probably be a lot quicker and less stressful.
