Just wondering if it is a worthwhile experience? We took delivery of a child's bed from a company online that has a large website of beds and furniture. Unfortunately I didn't check reviews as none were apparent. The bed arrived this week with a couple of small parts damaged / split. I don't know yet how significant they are to building it, however the company has no customer service department. No phone number, no help system, a live chat function that never works and an email address that you send multiple emails to and get a copy and paste response. I then looked online at reviews to find literally everyone who buys has the same experience.
They have an address / unit in New Romney but I am just trying to work out the best approach to get a replacement part.

No - direct debit.
Its a catastrophe.
I might open my open company selling nothing - seems to work.
Company has no contact means. Just cut and paste nonsense.

Just an update, I called citizens advice and had a fairly decent conversation with them. Basically nothing can be done. Trading standards are overwhelmed with work and not interested, they said I could write a letter as per the address given but it would rely on them replying / responding which they likely won't. I have been using the support email address to try and contact them but it just generates auto responses that goes round in circles and after 27 emails I have not progressed anything. Phone line is non existent and switched off. Interestingly they sell on Amazon and jn B and Q, the reviews are the same across the board. I was also advised to do a charge back through the bank which I have tried, but there is a long winded process to this and I suspect this will also be unsuccessful.
What's really sad is this is a child's bed, and there is a disability involved, so it has had an impact. Seems like companies can just do what they want these days with no real consequence. I am going to have to chalk it up as money lost.

Debit card chargeback isn't a pain but there are timeframes.
I have successfully done some, money credited straight back to me but I was advised they could do a grabback for x months.
Write them a letter giving 14 days to supply replacement parts, if they can't meet this then please arrange collection and a refund.
No joy then chargeback

None of the phone numbers work, there are others too. They have no phone lines.
Re collection and refund, also not possible - all the reviews online where people have had a collection have then gone onto not receive a refund. So they are then minus goods and money. Having said that they seem to be one of the companies who are able to manipulate their online presence as the review pages that come back on searches change on a daily basis, and when I find sites with poor reviews and write ups they disappear. Plenty of negative articles available on the likes of MSE, Mumsnet and other known websites. Their companies house page also has 3 claims against them.

Glue the broken bits back together and build the bed.
In future only buy anything online using Amazon Prime.....not because of next day delivery, but because almost everything I have bought that way has allowed no questions asked refunds within 30 days, the refunds coming from Amazon themselves. I have always been refunded, all I have to do is the returns paperwork clicking..
I too have been stung buying from a Facebook advert. Yes, the shirts I bought arrived, but the quality was appalling.
I could return them, if I could find a courier who would deliver to an address in China with no phone number and for less than the goods had cost me.
I chalked that up to experience and vowed never to buy from Facebook adverts etc again,

That's the annoying thing, I am OCD about this kind of thing, and normally I actually physically call any company before I buy anything in order to prove the system works (unless Amazon or Ebay). I never have these issues as I trust nobody and no process, as it always lets you down. This was just a punt in good faith because my daughter chose it looking online. It's just confirmed that I should never deviate from my existing processes.

Glad to hear you are careful. I have to keep reminding myself almost daily not to buy stuff I see on Facebook, even if the seller calls himself names like "Sara London", so making me think I am dealing with someone in the UK. But even dealing with UK companies doesn't make you safe it would seem.
Can you repair the kit and build it, or is it too badly broken?
