Does the normal neighbour exist anymore.

Currently doing my fascias so will need accss to get to the side of my garage that adjorns the neighbours.

I was going round next week to discuss and arrange access.

Doing a bit at the back at the moment i caught him over the fence.

Neighbour chuckles at me doing the work (fine for me)....i then drop in and say i will need access and was going to pop around..."oh do you want the bad news"..... " we have a pergoka going up".

Saying my job wont be too disruptive he then says "well they start tuesday"

I said ill pop round tomorrow to discuss....

Thread will continue

Doesn't seem that unreasonable on the face of it.
You'll be fine if you do it today or tomorrow surely?

A neighbour who lives behind me whatsapps me whenever too many of his sons footballs come over the fence. Shrugs

Based on your story, wouldn't you be better sorting your fascias right now while the weather is dry, thus preventing any conflicts / getting in each other's way from Tuesday, rather than being on your PC writing a mini rant about it ? :shrugs:

Is the issue that they shouldn’t enjoy their garden or do any work in it because you may need access to do your facias or that a pergoda won’t cause an obstruction to you doing your facias but he doesn’t realise?

Thank you its nnly taken about 5 replies to clock this. He doesn't realise.

The gormo basically dosn't give a st that I won't be able to get access to my property and certainly doesn't seem to realise it's my wall.

I just don't think people get it sometimes, consideration is down to zero in most neighbourhoods.

I had this behind with another neighbour doing fence work without consulting me, so I had some cowboy on my garden without permission.

The neighbour is doing nothing wrong.
You have only just informed him you want to go on his land to work on your property, even though you've already started.
Why didn't you tell/ask him earlier ?
Why can't you paint that fascia between now and Tuesday ?
If he's made plans for a pergola why should he be inconvienced anyway?

I'm confused.

So the neighbour wants to build something in his own garden.
This means the OP now won't be able to use the next door neighbours garden for his own personal use.

And the OP's complaining about it?

Have I got something wrong? It can't be that stupid - can it?

What is it that you aren't happy with in respect of the neighbour?

Have you done what the previous owners of my house did and build right up to the boundary (so you need to go on his land to access your gutters)?

If that's the case then I'm conscious I need to stay in their good books as I'm reliant on their goodwill.

The neighbour doesn’t get it?, and you call him a gormo? It takes two.

No its an apex garage that runs along the garden, (I have the neighbours wall against mine in the garden.

All I've expected is to be able to service/access my property, as if by luck I'm doing the fascia work at the same time as he's doing this.

If I can get up there I couldn't give a flying fook but the bloke couldn't even tell me how high it was going to be!
