Like an idiot, I pressed the right pedal too hard when overtaking on a straight 60mph limit road. NIP say 83 in a 60 (these quick EV's make it easier to be a moron)

Previously clean licence with no points for at least 15 years.

Does anyone have experience of the likely outcome?

Yes. Too fast for a course but within the threshold for a £100 fixed penalty with 3 points.

Ignore the internet - which will likely provide some nonsense about a Band B fine and 4-6 points.

Thanks. I did drop you a line as I was hoping you would respond. Internet definitely says band B fine and potential ban up to 28 days. I spoke to a lawyer (I responded to an ad - stupidly - that lawyer reckons I am in for a ban and wants £££'s to plead mitigating circumstances)

So I guess I fill in the NIP and see what they send to me?

Unfortunately, that lawyer is an idiot.

If possible then do the nomination online. Otherwise, send by recorded post.

Is that solicitor working on the assumption that you were contesting it and not taking the FPN option? It strikes me that you were quite accepting of it so £100 fine and 3 points is what you'll get.

I told them I would take points and a fine, but they said I will need to defend it in court and fight a ban. Note to self - always use a recommended solicitor not an ambulance chaser!

Thanks AGTLaw - I now have a conditional offer of fixed penalty. I can cope with 3 points and a fine
