German Speed Enforcement for UK Licence holders
Discussion
Traveling between Berlin & Lausitz over the A1 GP weekend, I noticed two speed traps, that although I slowed down, it may not have been enough (surely, those speed limits were in mph!!).
Anyone know if z German police will pursue you via the hire car co. ?? and the situation on points/fines??

I think in Austria they check the vignettes, so im not sure about germany!
Nope, in Austria they have the GO system which uses a box on the windscreen to track you around the motorway network. Again only for HGVs. It a much simpler system than the German MAUT (Go is similar to DART Tag, drive past and it registers, MAUT uses GPS to track you, the gantries check you have paid) and alot easier to use (GO system you just go, MAUT you have to tell them about your journey
). Unsurprisingly, the MAUT system is the system that the UK government are looking at installing here
