Hi All,
Massive longshot but thought I would share. Came across this car this morning in Stratford International Car Park and was pretty shocking to see. You hear about this sort of thing happening but have never seen it before. From the pictures I have seen online, normally the car is left on the wooden blocks but obviously not for this one.
I park at this station a lot for work meetings in London but a lot of others who park here will pick up the Eurostar. Where I live this act of theft would draw a lot of attention, but in London no one seems to be all that bothered. Just thinking of the poor person who will come back from a (probable) trip overseas to find their brand new car like this and hopefully not a family with young kids coming back to it to drive home.
There's probably more chance of winning the lottery than the owner being on PH or a friend/family member being on PH and recognising this car, but just wanted to pop it on here in case there is. I spoke to the car park staff and were not bothered.

I have been parking here for a good couple of years and haven't spotted any bar when you enter/exit. There may be some further across on that level as there are e-bikes to rent. I guess the owner will need to go through all of that once they are aware. Just called the company who run the car park and it is something that needs reporting to the police. I did try calling but the Met line is impossible to get through on so will report it online and then at least it is logged. Someone is in for a really nasty shock. I am sure their insurance will get new wheels on it but not the point obviously and have no idea what you do in this situation....as in I don't know if a tow truck could pick the car up like that (and from that angle with low roofs due to it being a multi storey) or it just has to sit there until new wheels are fitted.
Stratford International - isn't. In fact, it never was. Dear old UK can't find its way out of a paper bag. I used Ashford International a couple of times but these days it might as well be on the Bluebell Line heritage railway, nothing international has stopped there since 2020. And don't get me started on the national joke that is St Pancras International, with 75 minute check-in times and 200 chairs for 750 people.
Leaving that aside, nasty situation for the unfortunate owner to get back and find. Bummer.

If it does, no doubt the car park management will levy a heavy penalty charge...

Agreed.Sometimes it seems that half the population are busy making life difficult for the other half.
There's a couple of cars that have been abandoned here for months if not over a year but I guess the owners won't be coming to get them. Nor are the car park management clearly going to do anything about it!
I know London is huge, and of course a great deal of people do care, but it quickly hit me when seeing it that generally, no one cares as long as it's not their car. As I said, where I live in Suffolk, the police would be there straightaway and the owner would be contacted in advance of returning to their car very quickly. Here, it's totally different. Feel very sorry for the owner.

Could possibly be a write off, depending on the damage underneath.
Mrs WR had her VXR Astra stolen many years ago and it was found jacked up on bricks in Moss Side.
Crikey, I hadn't even considered that, especially as it's a new car. No idea how much they damage they may have done. I sent it to a couple of friends and one pointed out what looked like a locking wheel nut in the picture and didn't know how they got it without smashing windows. I know (from firsthand experience), you can get a one time use tool when you have lost your locking nut which busts the nuts off the wheels. I had lost mine once and the tyre garage used one to get the wheels off, think it was about £50 from memory. So guess the thieves might have had something like this....who knows, I am not a thief so no idea what they have at their disposal! Sorry to hear about Mrs WR's car at the time.
I saw this on Reddit yesterday. The rear windscreen was smashed so they would have been able to get the locking wheel nut from the boot.

Gone to pot, finished, cannot wait to get out.
Just getting that off the ground where it is will be difficult without damage.
Someone mention cctv, lol, that's only for issuing fines to motorists and serious incidents, honestly people would walk past someone doing that as getting involved is not worth the hassle. Sad city these days.
I too would be interested to know how they jacked it up, removed the wheels but then were able to neatly leave nothing propping the car up. Weird too that there is no CCTV, nor anyone raised the alarm (or maybe they did, but the police ignored it and just said "insurance will cover it")

Welcome to the London I was born in, brought up in and worked around all my 64 years, though not seen wheels nicked for years, if they want anything on the car they take. It, even if you are with it.
The wheel theft capital used to be Liverpool; the joke being that a top F1 team hired Scousers for their pit team because they could get wheels off quicker than the anyone else.Doesitdrive said:

Maybe it's an age thing but in my 20s driving into London was exciting, an adventure. Straight through the middle, Embankment, no big deal. Now anything inside the M25 is best avoided.Simpo Two said:
