Middle Lane hogger cameras?

Hi folks,
I was stuck on the congested M62 the other day, and it got me on to thinking: I know that for the most part, policing by camera is less desired (I certainly don't think there are many here who are delighted to see a speed camera).
But if a middle-lane hogger camera could be developed, and more policing of drivers just sitting in L2/L3 could start, how would you all feel?
To me, it'd seem a good way to start to make an inroad into some of the abysmal lane discipline I've seen lately on the motorways.
I also suspect that if such a thing could be developed and approved, we could definitely tackle a fair amount of the national debt by deploying it on the elevated sections of the M6 near Birmingham, and on the M25..
What do you reckon?

Force of habit and an obsession with following rules means I don't MLM but does it matter which lane you are in if there is nothing wanting to overtake you?
I've found on many occasions a car overtakes me and carries on in the middle/outer lane into the distance or until a faster vehicle is approaching and the car in front goes into the lane the highway code prescribes.
I prefer the idea of a short term campaign to fine perpetrators a high fine but we'd need to give Police vehicles to drive in for that wouldn't we? Actually, we'd probably need to employ some Police. I suspect cameras would be the lower cost.
