> Following your call we have reviewed the information with our team leader regarding the V5 documentation.
>
> As the account holder you do not need to complete or amend the V5 documentation. This is a part of the BCA process and BCA will deal with the relevant documentation on your behalf once the vehicle has been collected.
>
> Once the vehicle has been collected BCA will take the vehicle into their care and arrange for it to be Sorned and subsequently auctioned. Once the vehicle has been sold the relevant details will then be updated to it reflected a new registered keeper.
>
> As the vehicle will be with BCA following collection you do not need to take any further action regarding the V5 or the vehicle while it's being held by BCA. Any matter relating to the vehicle during the BCA storage and auction process will be dealt with as part of BCA process.

PCP VT collection, didn't know what to do about the V5. Would you trust BCA/whatever trader gets the car to handle the V5 process for you? Isn't it the seller's responsibility to notify the DVLA???

I had extensive dealings with the collection of end-of-lease BCA cars and wouldn't trust them any further than I could chuck one of the cars.

Give them the V5C but also go online and tell DVLA.

That's rubbish.

When you get a fine through the post DVLA will tell you it's your responsibity to inform them of the sale.

Never trust ANYONE else to do it.

Although you are not the seller. I assume you are the RK? It is still the RK's responsibility to tell of the change. I assume the correct thing is that it has gone to trade but to whom.

AI says it's the finance house, not BCA. AI also says that this is normal practice. It suggests taking a full copy of the V5 and giving them a period of a few days to do the change of keeper. If it doesn't happen then do it yourself.
