So that's 70 normally, or 70 + 60 if articulated or towing a trailer, i.e. 130. Sounds good to me. Where's me Transit...

Very funny but I had my eye drawn to the section on skidding

"Skidding is caused by the driver braking, accelerating or steering too harshly or driving too fast for the road conditions. If skidding occurs, ease off the brake or accelerator and try to steer smoothly in the direction of the skid. For example, if the rear of the vehicle skids to the right, steer quickly and smoothly to the right to recover."

Now it seems to me that several pages of the highway code are devoted to crap about stopping distances and speed limits and not having loads of stuff in your boot because its bad for the enviroment. The bit that might actually prevent a crash warrants 1 paragraph. Its not even a sweeping generalisation, it doesn't mention front or rear wheel drive and if your steed happens to be a 911 the guidance is a recipe for off. Oooh look 8 pages on recussitating fluffy bunnies if you run them over

Top speed on a tranny van is 105-110mph, top speed on your audi is 155mph the reason the tranny seems faster is that the driver doesn't own or give a about the tranny where as hopefully you care about your car.
