We have just been 'hit' by the Sheffield Enforcement officers with a couple of parking tickets, for vehicles in our custody at my workplace in Sheffield city centre.
No warnings, no 'any chance of moving', quite annoying really as parking is almost non existent in our location.
Anyone know of a loophole??

Presume vehicles parked on a road?

Just had a look at The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area)(City of Sheffield) Order 2005 which covers the whole of Sheffield and doesn't give any exceptions applicable to you.

Unless you can come up with some serious flaws in signing then looks as if your cooked....

One vehicle was parked on double yellows, fair cop.
The other one was parked on an area of hard standing outside the office window, this hard standing being large enough to accommodate 2 vehicles, of which there were.
Question - why only ticket 1 of the 2 vehicles stood there ???
Strange

Presumably the one on the yellows received the ticket. The second one on the frontage of workplace may well have been on private property, i.e. the frontage of the works which presumably ends at the pavement and therefore not on a road for the yellow?

Was ANY part of the vehicle overhanging the boundary of the private hard standing / public highway?
as if it did the yellow lines apply UPTO THE PRIVATE BOUNDARY, ,not where the the tyres rest on the ground,
but the overhang of the vehicles position that effects the henious crime of parking on double yellows,
if so the has got you, if not it may pay to fight it, as it had to trespass on private property to afix notice,

No, its an area of tarmac which is maintained by the council - not sur if it is designated as part of our work area without checking - but we have been in the same place since 1994 and have always parked a car or 2 there without any problems

Not sure if it applies, but I was done for parking on the concrete hardstanding under an overpass for a road. No signs to the contrary but the BiB got me under "Causing an Unnecessary Obstruction". I was tempted to go to court and ask A> What I was obstructing precisely as there was no pathway or access to anywhere else and B> What is their definition of Unnecessary Obstruction? And what therefore is a Necessary one?

I didn't of course, I just paid it and moaned a lot.
