Near where i live, there is a wide streach of road which is used by a white ford galaxy with two camaras sticking out the back. I was wondering if happen'd to be driving along and stopped within 20feet of the back of the van and then got out and answered my phone to a very very very very important phone call which happened to last a long long long time, would plod be able to do anything?

Only one way to find out - Make sure you are legally parked though!

Is the van marked ? I thought all the scamera vans have to be. Whatever, I did hear of one guy who regularly parked right in front of the camera then went to chat with the people in the van (And I do actually mean chat) and because he was parked legally they couldn't do anything about it. Maybe they could do you for obstructing an officer or something though.

thats the one, I thinks its called obstructing the course of justice or something like that and i think that they can actually tell you to move on.

But what if your on the phone can thay tell you to come off the phone, What if your leagall parked, engine off so they cant say you were in the control of a veh whilst using your mobile phone.

There was an item on the local TV station in the summer where a scamera had set himself up on someone's forecourt (with permission) and a van which couldn't use the forecourt because of aforesaid scammer got done for parking on the road and obstructing the scamera's view of approaching victims.
