I'm still classed as a young driver!

I has this email from Avon & Somerset Safety Camera Partnership. At least spending it this way saves it going to the treasury. Wont stop them hiding behind bus stops on the A38 Bedminster Down though.
Driving home the safety message

A new poster campaign has taken to the road in Avon and Somerset – to try to reduce deaths and injuries in crashes.
Two eye-catching posters, produced by the Safety Camera Partnership, will appear on the backs of more than 100 buses in the area over the next couple of months.
One of the posters shows a yellow safety camera and beside it the message “Slower Speeds = Safer Roads. It’s a simple equation!”
The other reads: “Speeding - what’s your excuse? Don’t be a victim”.
It is hoped the posters will attract the attention of all road users but particularly younger drivers.
More than half the drivers killed and injured on roads in Avon and Somerset during the past three years were under the age of 35.
Safety Camera Partnership communications manager David Gollicker said: “We hope this poster campaign will remind drivers of the need to travel at a safe speed to reduce the risk of being involved in a crash in which they or others could be killed or seriously injured.”
Despite reductions in deaths and injuries over the past three years, around 130 people are being injured on the roads in Avon and Somerset every week.
The Safety Camera Partnership is working closely with local authorities, residents and community groups to reduce this figure.
“Many people think the Safety Camera Partnership is just about camera enforcement. That is not true,” said Mr Gollicker.
“Our only aim is to reduce the number of casualties on local roads and we use a variety of methods, including bus back, cinema and television advertising, to encourage drivers to travel at a safe speed.
“We do not want to prosecute motorists. We want them to stay within the limits which have been set by the local highways authorities as a safe speed for local roads and so reduce the risk of being involved in an accident.”

So the legal limit is a safe speed? Hmmmmmmmmm, not convinced of that logic at all!
Actually I think the reasoning behind that is "we dont set the limits we only enforce them guv"

So, half of those killed or injured are over the age of 35. So why target only one group? An "ageist" policy at work, methinks! - Streaky
Ach! Ist because those funding the non-jobs are experienced drivers well over 35 years und they want to maintain their income.
But you are right - as soon as birthday number 36 comes along - ... you can relax und continue to grow old disgracefully!
Und we buy the useful gadgets as well
