Reckons the reason why drink driving has gone up is because the Government refuses to put the limit down ...

Where do they find these idiots and how the hell do they end up in positions of such influence?

It's gone up because some drivers realise the chance of being caught is now much reduced with the reduction in manned police traffic patrols.
So simple, yet the loonies running the asylum can't see it.

Most of these idiots are career politicians with no real life skills
1 - School,
2 - Uni (doing Politics) or Uni with some position of power in the student union
3 - Straight into politics, with no regard for long term consequences for their actions, and no experience of business & real world issue.,

I am sure most labour MPs have only qualification is Severe Loathing and Jealousy of the "middle" classes....

For example Gordon Brown has never had a proper job.

He can retire in a few years at 59 having been an MP for only 26? years and get a full whack index linked 34+ grand odd pension.

If he makes PM, then his pension is such that he would have to have a 3.1 million squid pot. Over twice what the prat wants to limit everyone else to. Most of us will get nowhere near that, I understand the average pot will be around £20k.

And thats after nicking £5 billion a year off our collective pension pots and extracting the wee on almost every other aspect of pensions.

When, and I do mean when rather than if, Labour are finally kicked out, how many years will it be before these idiots are allowed another attempt to stuff Britain. Or will it all be over?

Perhaps drink driving has gone up because the police have made it a higher priority to target these drivers?

I think drink driving has gone up because more drivers feel they will not get caught so are more willing to take the risk.

Only to find that they come accross a police vehicle which is only too willing to stop them for the manor of drivng, moving traffic offences etc.

I had 2 drink drivers last night at double the limit from routine stops such as a headlamp out or a fog light on.

Only downside for Reactive officers is that there is no "credit" from the powers that be as drink driving is not detectable and our stats do not show the offence against our workload.

Make it detectable and watch the figures rise considerably.

As for the reducing the limt wont that increase the numbers??? Or did they mean increase the limit?

How do they catch drink drivers? Do they have special cameras for that now?

Eh ?

You really don't get 'credit' so to speak for nicking a Drunk Driver ?

Does this mean DD is not counted as a crime but speeding is or something ?

How do they know it's gone up? they are not nicking em so it must be from accidents, does this mean speeding isn't the only thing that causes them, surely not

No,

For my side of policing as a reactive officer i am measured on how many detections i get (How many charges for a recordable offence)

Drink driving is not recordable and thus does not count towards my detection rate.

Speeding is not recordable so the same applies. But Traffic are measured in some forces this way. Same as traffic are measured on drink drivers etc.

I am not traffic and drink drivers are seen by reactive officers as a non starter unless they have to.

I on the other hand like drink drivers ( as in like going looking for Drink drivers)even though i get no "credit" for it i think its a worthwhile use of my time whilst out on patrol doing the visible policeing but when i am not commited on other jobs.

I now have 4 for the week.
