I believe it is still littering, but just not enforced.

Not health fascists, just respectful of others.

So am I , however I think the usual pro /anti smoking debate should be reserved for P&P.

So ban the trees for being inconsiderate.

edited to add : smoking is not illegal

It's got naff all to do with smoking. Chucking your rubbish on the floor, be it fags or other litter is offensive.

I obviously misread the thread title , I misinterpreted " Fag Butts" to mean cigarrettes . It is now clear that there aresome US citizens around, and that I should not throw "Civil Partners" out of the window !

All my litter stays in the car BTW .

What's the position with flicking them out of your car window? I had one bounce of my helmet the other day. Very unsettling.

(I was on my bike obviously)

Don't see how you can compare leaves to cigarette ends. Thats like comparing strawberries to dog sh1t.

Strawberries don't burn very well either

Emptying ashtrays out of car windows etc. really pees me off, you just know the sort of person that does it; an ignoramus who likes to think the whole world is his/her litter bin.

More PC nonsense. How can anybody compare dropping a cigarette butt (comprising a tiny bit of chopped leaf and a scrap of paper) with dropping: a drink can; a crisp packet, a plastic bottle, a polystyrene burger box, etc.

Ahem, all that council tax.... Allegedly pays for the streets to be swept you know. Shouldn't be a problem if we got what we pay a kings ransom for

Ah yes, someone else's problem isn't it? Definitely not up to the smoker to responsibly dispose of his/her litter, that would be just silly...

Correct, it's not. I pay for the streets to be swept. If it ain't happening then feel free to into my councillor for breach of contract.
