A freind of mine was stopped a couple of days ago by cops doing standrad checks on passing cars etc.

They went over his car and his personal info and all was fine until they said.

"Mr ***** , You are under arrest!"

He had a speeding case during the year but decided not to attend the court on the day and he had heard nothing about the decision, so carried on with his life until he heard what they had decided. Well, apparently they had sent him a letter saying he ws obliged to attend the hearing as a ban might be handed down, but he didn't recieve said letter.

So, they hauled him off to reading (from London)and kept him in custody for 27 hours before he could go before a judge. His speeding offence was 109 MPH on the M4!

The judges decision?

6 points and a £150 fine!

Well it does sound very serious, the amazing thing is after his serious crime he is allowed to walk out of court and get straight back in his car. The totting up malarkey really is a funny one.
