Anyone here got one already? Wondering how its compares to a Go 300.. plum chap on telly 'Gadget show' reckoned faster processor so presumably quicker redraws & re routing.

Have had mine since the day released - needed to wait for the new chipset so I didn't have to buy an external antenna.

One of the best things i've bought, very easy to use and wouldn't be without it now.
I thnk if you look around there is also deals for close to £200

Or alternatively save 300 squid and use your eyes, a map and a sense of direction.

Which is about as much use as a fart in a high wind to those of us who don't commute daily.

They reviewed the one last night on Top Gear. It was the best product tested.

What has commuting daily got to do with anything? Quite the opposite in fact, you DON'T need a map or satnav for your daily commute but you do when going to an unfamiliar destination. I always find a map and a sense of direction better than any machine as machines don't have intuition.

Night time ?
London (or any big city)?
Speed cameras ?
Alternative routes ?
Live traffic data ?

Night time and big cities don't bother me.
Speed cameras I can spot.
Alternative routes, I prefer to work out my own - intuition again.
So-called 'live' traffic data tends to be out of date, or worse it will inform you of the traffic jam 5 minutes after you have hit it and aren't moving anywhere.

I'd use satnav if it came as standard but I'd rather spend 300 quid on a freer-flowing cat or similar.

Not everyone has your apparently perfect sense of direction.

Personaly I would prefer to be told directions when I driving in an unfammiliar city rather than having the distraction of regularly looking at a map and scanning the streets for name plates etc.

£300 on a cat? You could buy a cat bypass AND a sat nav and still have change...

It's a special gold-plated cat.

I guess I'm a bit of a running-in-cotton kind of guy.

Maps are great, but....

Have you ever driven 30'000 a year on the roads as they are now and having to look at a map or written directions, potentially in the dark?

That's what Sat Nav is for and it works a treat :-)

My wife uses our Tom Tom Go 500 all the time and loves it ..... the snag is that so far it has 'sent' her directly onto the M25 hard shoulder via an emergency access point and more recently down a buses only road which resulted in a £50 ticket as the road was - unsurprisingly in current times - being monitored by a CCTV ticket issuing type person
