My mum went to South Wales last weekend and managed to pick up a NIP for 51 in a 40.

It was received 1st class - however the NIP is not signed and distinctly resembles a computerised form.

There is a section stating in English and Welsh 'Officer on charge of safety camera unit (on behalf of the Chief Officer of Police)' and next to this is printed J H MOORE.

I seem to remember North Wales receiving a rocketing for sending out automatic NIPs - do we have a get out here?

Will dig a bit deeper - but if we complain after 14 days there's not much they can do if it needs to be signed?

All good thanks - probably cos we're not in Reading

Off to Suffolk tomorrow

I think the rocket they got was because of the Witness Statements they were producing for the courts, not for the NIPs.

Have a read up over on www.pepipoo.com, there may be options........

Sorry Puggit, no requirement at law that the NOIP section has to be signed. As far as the request for drivers details (S172) there should be information that the request is made by or behalf of the Chief officer of Police, which you state is there.

Slowpoke is correct, statements of evidence were being churned out on computor with computor generated signature which was against Mags Courts Rules re statement " this statement, consisting of ...pages each SIGNED BY ME, is true etc etc.

Cheers DVD - we'll just go to court then and see what evidence they turn up with
