See this link: www.sky.com/skynews/polls/displayresults/1,,91153-1003258,00.html

Over 37,000 votes and over 70% of them feel that cameras don't save lives.

This is a very similar result to one AOL ran a few months ago. It too had over 30,000 votes with something like 70% against cameras.

So stick that where you like camera supporters with your selective polls.

Get the message?

The results in independant polls are ALWAYS the same : 70% or more against speed cameras or anything related to them. The public have spoken time and time again!

The SCP's still state the exact opposite : 70-80% support cameras, which is PROOF in black and white of how they LIE to suit themselves. All their other cherry picked statistics follow suit. Sickening parasites.

It's self preservation and the fact they can word the survey how they like, they're probably not lying, instead just asking the wrong questions.

I'm sure you could prove that most people supported speed cameras, if you phrased the question right.

Do you think that speed cameras should be used to save lives?

They usually also make a point of including a question about the use of cameras at traffic lights. Most people accept that jumping a red light is dangerous, so they exploit this to the full.

Somerset SCP now include it in their headline "mission/vision statement" on their website:

"Mission Statement:

To reduce casualties by encouraging people to observe speed limits and red traffic lights through education and enforcement."

They also state:

"Opinion surveys have shown widespread public support for cameras at traffic lights – with more than 80 per cent of people who took part in recent surveys conducted by local authorities backing their use."

But obviously no mention of the 80% who are against speed cameras.

In my book that's still attempting to misrepresent the truth, whether it be directly or indirectly lying.
