if it means you lose your licence if you dont!
Loads of different opinions. Interested in what everyone thinks?
What everyone thinks is irrelevant, as it will only be the person who has the 'problem' who will be able to take the chance to get the benefit, or take the consequences if caught.
The law sees it as fraudulent. There was a high profile case some months ago where a couple made out that it was one of their eastern european employees driving, as oppose to one of them. They even took the trouble to fabricate postcards and stuff to support what they were saying. The police and CPS spend thousands checking it all out which was then added to the court costs when the pair was found guilty as well as a fine of thousands of pounds, and may be also even a custodial sentence.
It all comes down to whether that would be the best risk, or rather instead of fabricating evidence, fight the speeding charge and hope that the CPS mess up or fail to prove the case. There are also solicitors who charge a lot of money but have a very high success rate. Although they are costly, it would be less than tenth of the potential fine I explained above, and if you win, you get your money back.
The other option in to plead guilty, and put forward some mitigating circumstances why it would be a horrible punishment not to be able to drive for a while.
Which way you go comes down to which option you believe will have most benefit over the risk involved. Each case is different, as is everyones morals and attitude to risk!
