Eco nutters let air out of 4 X 4's tyres in climate protest.
Discussion
I doubt it is legal.
And then there's the possibility of an accident if the driver sets off without noticing.
If I caught someone letting the air out of my tyres I'm afraid I would react very badly indeed. I would assume that they were attempting to cause an accident that could cost me my life. In fear if my life I might react quite aggressively in self-defence.

The most difficult part of the task is to let air out slowly, so the vehicle’s alarm does not go off. To avoid the possibility of owners driving off with flat tyres and putting lives in danger, campaigners leave documents on windows explaining what they have done.
the fact they then either stick something to or lift the winscreen wiper to attache said leaflet can be construded as criminal damage and would result in and illegal act.

Criminal damage to a safety-related component? They say no damage is caused but they are changing the state of the tyre and rims resting on a flat tyre could damage the casing.

This beggars belief, do they seriously think its ok to let down peoples tires? I want to own a 4x4 now, if only as an excuse to entice and then beat one of them up
Run over his feet on the rims a couple of times, pointing out to him that had the tyres been adequately inflated he would still have toes.
Tyres could also be full of dry nitrogen rather than wet air mix, which certainly did cost something.
But regardless, it's clearly criminal damage. For comparison, consider that the blood in the eco-warrior didn't cost anything, but letting all that run out would be criminal (although satisfying, perhaps)

These dangerous fools are so misguided they should be put down for the sake of humanity. They are breathing oxygen that could be productively used by plants.
We've just got a 4*4 Merc ML320Cdi and so far in 900 miles of driving the average is 27mpg. It's the most fuel efficient vehicle in the household, yet the one that would be vandalised by these green eyed commie feckwits.

What do plants use oxygen for?
Plants, like all other living organisms, need to make use of stored chemical energy in order to perform their life functions -- to grow, to transport nutrients, to reproduce, and to protect themselves. They do this all the time, using free oxygen from the air and use the sugars that they have stored inside to make carbon dioxide and water. During daylight however they also perform photosynthesis, which creates the stored sugars by reducing CO2 to carbon (which combines with other nutrients to create sugars) and oxygen which is excreted.

For giving to us after they used the plant food / aerial fertiliser ( CO 2 ) our cars emit to creat oxygen and sugars during photosynthesis It's a two way, symbiotic thing :-)

Once again, PH causes yet another keyboard to seize up following the untimely juice spillage spawned of the bean cocoa - Daz, I trust you have ordered a Merc GL63 AMG purely to park outside the offices of Red Ken, replete with ruffled rhino hide feat. "50 Cent" foxfur piping?
One could quite genuinely give these boundahs damn good bunch o' fives, ruddy mud dwelling maggots.
