My V5 appears to have the spec for my car incorrect, it says avantgarde but the vehicle is elegance.

Is it worth ringing them to get it changed, would it cost me any money, or should I just leave it? I was just wondering because it might actually create issues with the insurance, even though avantgarde is a slightly lower spec.

I don't think it costs anything - I had to change my details as they had my bike down as being grey when its very obviously RED and I just filled in the corrections form and sent it back to them!

One of my petrol Landies is down as a diesel, A blue one is down as a green one, and my mates old rangie has a 9999cc four cylinder diesel engine! (according to DVLA) and weve never had any probs.
But its always preferable to have everything right, though.

Avantgarde is a HIGHER spec than Elegance which is higher than Classic

It's free, I updated one recently which had a chassis # which was wrong (missing a digit).

They wanted some evidence & photocopies of old MOT's + service entries were fine. Apparently letter from manufacturer would have been fine too.

One of my old motorcycles 1000cc petrol fuel type was down as 10000cc and heavy oil.
I contacted the DLVA pointed out the problems on their phoneline they said correct it on the V5 and sent it back to us which I did.
DVLA duly returned a new V5 with you guessed it 10000cc and heavy oil listed again! I then gave up and eventually sold the bike still showing this.
Good luck with them actually picking up your corrections.
