I'd love to see some video footage from a class1 driver, from the pre-scamera days versus the current climate allwoing for what every motorist has to put up with, on the same section of road.

If there are any TV bods out there this would make VERY interesting viewing a direct camparison of hazards as they used to be called

Any suggestions as to what this might reveal?

I can't really see it making a great deal of difference to be honest mate. In what kind of respect do you mean? More hazards? You're welcome to stick a camcorder in my car when I'm responding to calls one day. I can't promise it will always be a 'professional' commentary though, and may require some dubbing!!

What I mean is "the new hazards" that the motorist now has to contend with - eg the Scamerati & its knock effects of people braking for cameras, vans on bridges, constantly changing speed limits - as opposed to just watching for normal hazards & driving accordingly as we used to.

Assuming ye are a normal motorist for a day an not immune to such newly imposed hazards

Yep, see what you mean. To be honest, in my case, such things have been around since i've been driving to a Police standard, I'm not an old enough git! I think a bit too much is made of camera vans, gatso's etc. I have a long drive to work each day. There's two gatso's, and i've never once seen a camera van or plod speed gun. They really are few and far between, but a lot is made of them. They're just another thing to be incorporated into the Driving Plan. I read other drivers actions well, and whether it be a change of road surface, a child on the pavement ahead, or a possible 'speed trap', it's just another hazard to see ahead. I was always told on my course, "Expect every other driver on the road to do the most stupid thing possible, and you'll be okay!"
