If the BiB only have one picture of you from a Travilo can that be legal to prosecute or do they need too? otherewise how can you work out the distances/time/speed ?

Cheers for any info

Looks like they take a single photo, see here www.radar-detectors.co.uk/truvelo_speed_camera.asp

Truvelo's triggered by inductive loops in the road, so all they have to do is time you between the 2 loops and take your pic to get the reg.

I guess it makes the assumption that you have to have been speeding to set it off in the 1st place and I'm unsure how that could be proved either way after the event without 2 photos.

{eta:} Like the link Joolz posted.

I haven't read JollzB's link but..

Truvelo - There are embedded piezo strips just short of the three white timing lines. The strips calculate the speed of the vehicle as the wheels pass over them. If the vehicle is over a preset speed threshold, the box of tricks calculates how many milliseconds need to elapse until the front wheels will straddle the white lines. A photo is then taken at X milliseconds after the sensors have been 'triggered'. If the photo shows the front wheels straddling the lines, then this is the secondary (corroborating) evidence of excess speed - the triggering of the piezo sensors being the primary evidence..

You probably already know the answer, but...

Just the one photo is enough with a mobile laser - The primary evidence being the officer's prior opinion of excess speed. The record from the laser being the corroboration..
