I'm not talking about the chav's who fly around towns in there beat up nova's but what would the resident plod do if they came accross 2 cars side by side going at a reasonable speed on a deaserted duel carridge way from lights, racing, doing the quarter mile type thing, what action would you take?

AFAIK racing is the worst thing you can get done for, so i would expect a ban.

At least. Maybe worse.

Fear not, though. There is a big difference between a little lighthearted keeping up with the car in front when they accelerate hard and "racing".

Careful though. That side by side thing would certainly be seen as "racing"....

is it luck of the draw who would get pulled or would it be the guy who pulls over first who gets done?

Both I imagine. After all - it takes two to be racing...

S1 Death by dangerous driving is worse. AIUI, racing is usually prosecuted as S2 dangerous driving.

Anybody remember that evo letter of the month a while back? The guy wrote in saying his mate was involved in a race and the other driver crashed and died resulting in his mate doing time.

Police take an exceptionally dim view of it from what I can tell. Rightly so.
