Basically about CCTV cameras put into deal with street crime being used against motorists.

Includes a man fined £100 for waiting a few seconds to let someone out of a parking bay so that he could then slip into the vacated space.

:shakes head and wanders off to the canteen for a brew wondering what happened to common sense, or was it really thrown out of the window when civilian enforcement flew in?:

What also bothers me is that there must be people whose job it is to sit and look through these tapes.... it's not like scamulators where you can do it automatically.

Notice this quote

Mark Roe, the council’s senior community safety officer and one of those who helps administer the scheme: “In order to sustain CCTV in Camden it is essential that funds are secured to monitor and maintain the system."

So it is about the revenue, no surpise there then.

Trying to claim it was double parking, ie waiting more than the designated distance (30cm?) away from kerb.

Traffic managment bill and all accompanying machinations thereof..

Barking mad is it not?

Barking yes. How can they claim double-parking when the car was occupied and the engine running? That's 'waiting', not 'parking'.

I've gotta stop frequenting SP&L - every day I see something which scares/riles me about the way this country is going!
