So there's a double yellow line and the road has been repaired. The double yellow is clearly broken for about two feet. Are there any circumstances where the no parking limit could still apply?

I had a run in with a traffic warden this morning and he was muttering about the order that bought it in allows it to remain enforceable (It's a no waiting etc zone I think) Is he right or can I poke him with a big stick tomorrow morning?

No Waiting Order made for Waiting Restriction.

TSGD 2002 stipulates a sign for conveying information or a warning, requirement, restriction, prohibition or speed limit of the description specified under a diagram in Schedules 1 to 7, Part II of Schedule 10 and Schedule 12 to traffic on roads shall be of the size, colour and type shown in the diagram. No exemptions mentioned.

Diagram for DYL in TSGD is a continuous one - no breaks - so what stated does not conform.

Order not enforceable?

Ah, but DVD, if it's in a zone of decriminalised parking, then TSRGD no longer applies, and the discretion lies with the adjudicator, bound by common sense (ha!) rather than the magistrates bound by the weight of law in all its glorious scribble (in aprticularl the diagrams in TSRGD).

Suspect you'd be buggered if it were RBKC.

I was thinking of parking face on to the kerb???

Fortuantely it appears the entire line is unenforceable. That's probably why the wardens were there this morning Now where's my printer
